635 - Home of the Whopper

Lyndon Baines Johnson Freeway US635. It's a great freeway that rings the city of Dallas. We're actually standing on the side of the service road. It runs alongside the freeway and feeds people on and off it. The behemoth nearest the camera is a Chevrolet Suburban. It gets 11 miles per gallon, seats a BUNCH of people (although of course only the driver's seat is ever occupied), and due to its all black tinted windows, is impossible to see through. This is what the average suburban housewife drives. I kid you not. More than 50% of the vehicles in Valley Ranch are this truck, or the Ford equivalent. The remaining 50% are 30% mid-weight SUVs, and 20% cars whose drivers can't yet afford a giant SUV. They show a complete lack of societal responsibility, and the owners of them should be charged with premeditated murder when they hit someone, as they buy them knowing that when they do get into a collision, they will most likely kill the other person. Save your arguments, there is no justification for these things except in VERY rare cases where someone genuinely needs to carry a lot of *heavy* cargo offroad. And I'm not talking about carrying soccer equipment to a soccer field. Any average minivan will handle that quite capably and, they have a lower liftover due to the lower floor, and due to that floor, they carry a greater volume. There's a special place in Hell for SUV drivers to talk on their cell phones.
